Managed IT · monitoring, patching and helpdesk

IT that is looked after between projects, so that your team can get on with the business.

We monitor your systems, apply patches and updates, run a helpdesk for your people, administer your users and devices, and review the whole estate with you on a regular schedule, under a service level agreed in advance. Where we can, we find problems before users notice them, and when we cannot, someone who knows your systems answers the call.

Capabilities

What Managed IT & Monitoring covers

  • Monitoring and alerting

Watch the health of servers, networks, backups and services, and act on warnings early.

  • Patching and updates

Operating system and security updates applied on a schedule, tested first where it matters.

  • Helpdesk

A place for your people to ask for help, with tickets, priorities and response times.

  • Users and devices

Joiners, movers and leavers, accounts, permissions and the devices people use, kept in order.

  • Backup and recovery checks

Regular checks that backups ran and can be restored.

  • Reviews and reporting

A regular report and review of what happened, what is at risk and what to do next.

Is it the right one?

Where it fits, and where it does not

We would rather you choose the right thing than the one we happen to be discussing.

A strong fit when

  • You have no IT team, or one person who cannot be on call for everything.
  • Patches and updates are done when someone remembers.
  • Problems are reported by users, and not found by anyone first.
  • You want predictable IT support without hiring a whole team.

Look at something else when

  • You have a capable in-house team and want one specialist skill: ask us for that instead, as a project or as support (see Application Support).
  • You want a fixed price for anything and everything: a managed service has a defined scope, and we set it out clearly.
  • You run systems that we do not support: we will tell you what we can take on and what we cannot.

How we deliver

How Abrimatt delivers Managed IT Support

Every engagement runs in phases, so the business sees progress and risks surface early. The timescale for each phase is set after an assessment, not before.

  1. Assess

Take stock of your systems, users and risks, and fix the urgent items.

  2. Agree the service

Define what is covered, the response times, the reporting and what it costs, in writing.

  3. Onboard

Install monitoring, document the estate and bring users on to the helpdesk.

  4. Run

Monitor, patch, support and administer, and keep the records current.

  5. Review

Meet regularly to look at the reports, the risks and what is changing in the business.

  6. Improve

Use the findings to plan the projects that would make the estate simpler and safer.

Questions we are asked

Managed IT Support: questions and answers

What response times do you commit to?

We agree response times with you, by priority, and write them into the service agreement. They depend on the scope you choose, so we set them out with you rather than quoting a single figure.

Can you work alongside our own IT people?

Yes. Some clients use us for monitoring, patching and out-of-hours cover while their own team works on projects; others use us in place of an internal team. We agree who does what.

How do you find problems before users do?

By monitoring the things that fail first, such as storage, backups, services and security alerts, and acting on warnings. We cannot see everything in advance, which is why a helpdesk is part of the service too.

Start the conversation

Hand day-to-day IT to people who know your systems.

Tell us what you run, who looks after it today and where it goes wrong. We will say what a managed service would cover, what it would not, and how we would take it over.

  • A clear scope and service levels, written down
  • A handover that starts with a review and quick fixes
  • A regular review of what is at risk and what to do next

What happens next

  1. Tell us where you are

A short form or a call: what you run today, and what is getting in the way.

  2. We review it with you

A named consultant looks at your situation and talks through the options and what each would involve.

  3. You decide what comes next

You leave with a clear picture and a recommended scope you can take to your team.
